§ 60. Mr. John H. Osbornasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what promises have been made to polytechnic teachers involved in the transfer from the federated superannuation system for universities parallel arrangements scheme to teachers superannuation schemes to cover any pension losses due to the lengthy delays in the publication of the regulations and arrangements for this transfer.
§ Miss Margaret Jackson:My hon. Friend the Member for The Wrekin (Mr. Fowler) informed my hon. Friend the Member for Coventry, South-West (Mrs. Wise), in a letter dated 25th May 1976 that no one would suffer as a result of the timing of a settlement. The settlement referred to was, of course, the winding up of parallel arrangements. I confirm this assurance, and if the hon. Member is aware of any case in which the timing may give rise to loss of pension I will look into it most carefully. As I have already informed the hon. Member in a written reply, I expect the relevant regulations to be made early in the new year.
