§ 51. Mr. Ronald Atkinsasked the Secretary of State for Employment what are his estimates of the number of men aged 60 to 64 years employed at present and likely to be employed in one, two and three years' time; and what proportion they form of the total work force.
§ Mr. Golding:From the latest available information it is estimated that in 1978 over 800,000 employees in employment in Great Britain were men aged 60 to 64. This is a little over 6 per cent. of all male employees in employment.
It is not possible to predict exactly how many men aged 60 to 64 will be employed in the future, but current indications are that the number will be similar to the present level.
