§ 68. Mr. Kimballasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what representations she has received from the Professional Association of Teachers for representation on the Burnham Committee; and, in view of the fact that the association has in excess of 10,000 members, what her reasons are for refusing it a seat.
§ Mr. Oakes:Since my right hon. Friend's proposals for reconstituting the teachers' panel of the Burnham Primary and Secondary Committee were announced she has received over 100 letters from hon. Members as well as various representations from members and officers of the Association. The Association is not included in the proposals for reconstitution for the reasons given in the answer I gave to a question from the hon. and gallant Member for Winchester (Rear-Admiral Morgan-Giles) on Monday 6th November 1978.—[Vol. 957, c. 52.]
