HC Deb 03 August 1978 vol 955 cc754-5W
Mr. Adley

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many people have been provided with local authority or other accommodation, after having declared themselves homeless under the Housing (Homeless Persons) Act; if he will list the local authorities who have been made to provide this accommodation; and if for each local authority he will indicate the size of their housing waiting list.

Mr. Armstrong

, pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 1st August 1978], gave the following answer:

The available information on homelessness, for the first four months in which the Act has been in force, is contained in statistics published today, a copy of which has been placed in the Library of the House. The Department does not collect information on the size of local authority housing waiting lists.
