asked the Secretary of State for Employment what is the current rate of unemployment for school leavers in the Southend travel-to-work area.

Mr. Golding

Figures for July 1978 show that there were 1,917 school leavers aged under 18 registered as unemployed in the Southend travel-to-work area. It is not possible to calculate the rate of unemployment amongst school leavers.
