§ 34. Mr. Michael McNair-Wilsonasked the Secretary of State for Defence if he has now reached a decision about the United States authorities' request to reopen RAF Greenham Common as a fully operational air base.

Member when I met him on 4th April the United States request is being carefully considered not only in relation to RAF Greenham Common, but also taking into account the suitability of alternative locations for the task. This will necessarily take some time to complete.
