Mr. Brocklebank-Fowler

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will publish in the Official Report a table showing the estimates made by local authorities in Eastern England of costs to them arising out of storm and flood

March 1978 are not yet available, but details at 30th September 1977 have been included to show the latest recorded position.

All local authorities in Eastern England affected by the storms were asked on 24th February to submit estimates of their emergency expenditure. Apart from one, some details of whose estimates are being clarified, no local authority has yet provided the information asked for.
