HC Deb 14 April 1978 vol 947 c576W
Mr. Teddy Taylor

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will make a statement on the meeting of the Under-Secretary of State with the hospital junior staff committee of the British Medical Association about the implementation of the phase 2 increase of 31st March; and whether these increases have in fact been paid by hospital boards.

Mr. Millan

At the meeting with the hospital junior staff committee on 17th January 1978 the Under-Secretary of State gave an undertaking that both parts of the doctors' phase 2 increase, the £105 cash supplement and the allowance for covering for the annual and study leave of colleagues, would be paid by 31st March.

With the exception of one Glasgow district, where because of a misunderstanding there was a week's delay, this undertaking has been fully met.
