asked the Secretary of State for Defence whether he will give examples of the types of units and establishments in which the further cuts totalling 3,200 in the strength of the Army are to be made without giving details of the strength of individual units.

The following are examples of units and establishments affected in the final stages of the implementation of the Army's restructuring plan:

  • A Division HQ.
  • Some Artillery Regiments.
  • An Engineer Regiment.
  • Some Infantry Battalions.
  • A Transport Regiment.
  • An Armoured Workshop.
