HC Deb 13 April 1978 vol 947 c502W
Mr. Welsh

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many applications he has so far received for protection orders under the Freshwater and Salmon Fisheries (Scotland) Act 1976; how many similar applications have been submitted to the advisory committee; and how many they have granted.

Mr. Hugh D. Brown

The only application accepted for consideration up to the present date is for the rivers Tweed and Eye. This is under consideration along with recommendations from the consultative committee. No other applications have been referred to the committee and none has been granted.
