§ Mr. Fauldsasked the Secretary of State for Defence why he and the South West Water Authority negotiated on its own the use of a 3,500 acre area for training purposes just to the north of the previous one at Ringmoor without waiting for the establishment of consultative machinery as recommended in the Sharp Report.
§ Mr. Robert C. BrownIt was prudent to establish whether land in the ownership of the South West Water Authority might be made available to replace the facilities previously enjoyed on Ring-moor. No formal arrangements have yet been concluded pending discussion of detailed proposals by the new consultative body, about which I hope to make an announcement very shortly.
