HC Deb 07 April 1978 vol 947 cc270-1W
Mr. Lee

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food by what percentage he expects imports of New Zealand sheepmeat to be reduced by the end of the first full year of the implementation of the common agricultural policy sheepmeat regime.

Mr. Bishop

The EEC Commission's proposals for a sheepmeat regime, which have only just been released, do not provide for reduction in imports. Nevertheless the United Kingdom Government will continue to make it clear in discussions on the proposals that any arrangements must provide continued adequate access for third country supplies.
