HC Deb 07 April 1978 vol 947 cc234-5W
Mr. Shersby

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on the circumstances in which Mr. Nicholas Love was shot dead by Botswana border guards; and what steps he has taken or is taking to secure from the Government of Botswana a fully apology and substantial compensation for the tragic loss of life of a British subject.

Mr. Rowlands

I would refer the hon. Member to the reply I gave to the hon. and learned Member for Colchester (Mr. Buck) on 5th April—[Vol. 947, c.134]. My right hon. Friend is now studying the High Commissioner's report of his meeting with President Seretse Khama.
