HC Deb 03 April 1978 vol 947 c69W
15. Mr. Gwynfor Evans

(Carmarthen) asked the Secretary of State for Wales what recent representations he has received in regard to compensation for increased costs of Cleddau Bridge in Dyfed, which arose from Government action.

Mr. Barry Jones

No recent representations about the Cleddau Bridge in Dyfed have been received, and as I have sought to make clear on numerous occasions the increased costs, which like everyone else I greatly regret, do not arise from Government action. In any case more than 70 per cent. of the losses are met by the Government through the rate support grant.
