§ Mr. Stanbrookasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what assistance is given to parents of blind children wishing to purchase the opticon reading device or other electronic aids to reading from ordinary texts.
§ Mr. Alfred MorrisThese devices are more relevant to the meeting of an educational need than to the needs for which a social services authority would normally provide. If any such device were necessary I would, therefore, expect it to be a matter for the local educational authority to consider.
