HC Deb 26 October 1977 vol 936 c856W
Sir George Young

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what is his policy in making appointments to the Sports Council; and what regard is paid to the possibility of conflicting interests of members appointed to the council.

Mr. Denis Howell:

My policy is to appoint members with appropriate experience, interests and abilities. I am not aware that anyone whom I have appointed has interests which are incompatible with his membership of the Sports Council.
