HC Deb 26 October 1977 vol 936 c814W
Mr. Brocklebank-Fowler

asked the Minister for Overseas Development what plans she has to enable British graduate students to study for masters' degrees in rural development in British universities.

Mr. Tomlinson:

My Ministry runs a natural resources studentship scheme which enables suitably qualified British graduate students, among other forms of training, to study for a one year Master's degree in British universities in various natural resources disciplines, including rural development, and thereafter to undertake a year's practical training overseas, usually on an aid project, with a view to subsequent employment under the aid programme.
