asked the Secretary of State for Transport if he will establish an inquiry into the system of leasing of motorway service areas.

Mr. Horam:

The Government are considering this and the form such an inquiry could take. I hope that their decision may be announced in the near future.

Roberts asked the Secretary of State for Transport how many representations he has received as to the efficiency of, and prices charged for, various services offered by motorway service stations; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Horam:

The Department received 97 such representations in 1974, 76 in 1975, 74 in 1976 and 76 to date this year, of which 32, 14, 22 and 35 respectively referred to prices.
