§ 59. Mr. Wardasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether she will make a statement on arrangements for the use by Cambridgeshire County Council of places in independent schools.
§ Miss Margaret JacksonCambridgeshire County Council has an assisted place scheme based on a scale of parental contribution towards the tuition fees for the take-up of day places at the Perse, Kimbolton and Stamford Schools. The Council has said this standing arrangement will cease after the September 1978 intake but it is seeking my right hon. Friend's approval to these arrangements continuing for that intake. This request is under consideration.
