§ Mr. OrmeOn 2nd August 1977, the latest date for which figures are available, there were 183,000 males and 101,000 females registered as unemployed and in receipt of neither unemployment benefit nor supplementary allowance. Of these, 75,000 males and 40,000 females were awaiting a decision on a claim for unemployment benefit.
