Mr. Alan Williams

I visited Liverpool on 8th November formally to launch building operations on a six-acre inner city factory site at King Edward Street. The Department is to build on it the 20 small advance factory units totalling 88,000 sq. ft. that I announced on 26th July in reply to a Question from my hon. Friends. About 350 jobs are expected to be provided when these units are completed and occupied. I am grateful to my hon. Friend and his Merseyside colleagues for their welcome for a project which they have advocated.
