§ Mr. Lomasasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will introduce amending legislation to abolish the legal status of illegitimacy to provide that all children should have the same legal status regardless of the marital arrangements of their parents.
§ Mr. Merlyn ReesThe law relating to illegitimate children is being considered by a Law Commission working party set up in October 1976 and I propose to await the outcome of its studies before reaching any conclusions on what changes should be made.
