HC Deb 11 November 1977 vol 938 cc273-4W
Mr. Wakeham

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will make a statement on the current investigation by the Inland Revenue City 20 Office into the tax affairs of Smithfield market meat porters.

Mr. Robert Sheldon,

pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 9th November 1977; Vol. 938, c. 127–8], gave the following information:

I am afraid that it would be inappropriate for me to make a statement about any particular tax investigation which the Inland Revenue may have undertaken.
