For families which have more than six dependent children under the age of 19: (a) £7.40 is to be added at each incremental point in every additional line, and (b) £1.25 is to be deducted at each incremental point in every additional column. Where the net weekly income of the parent of a family of any size specified in Part A is less than any amount shown in the corresponding entry in Part B, the number of children entitled to free school meals is as given at the head of the column in Part B showing the lowest amount in that entry which exceeds that income. The figures for these years are out—turn prices. For the year 1977–78 the amount of grant payable is expected to be no less than for 1976–77. A final decision has not yet been taken for the years after 1978.
