§ 23. Sir Anthony Royleasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what action he is taking to assist Hong Kong following the recent visit to London by the Governor, Sir Murray MacLehose, and the urgent action which he requested regarding textiles.
§ Dr. Owen:During his recent visit to London the Governor made Hong Kong's position over the textile negotiations clear. British Ministers have taken his views into account.
§ Mr. Grieveasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what is the policy of the Government of Hong Kong with regard to the licensing of gaming houses; and whether he envisages any change in such policy.
§ Mr. Luard:Under the present policy, normal gaming houses are not permitted in Hong Kong. No changes to this policy are envisaged.
§ Mr. Parryasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he has any plans to pay an official visit to Hong Kong.
