Imports of rice into the United Kingdom from the United States of America during each of the past three years, and during 1977 to 30th September 1977, are as follows:

1974, 23,620 Tonnes; 1975, 25,870 Tonnes; 1976, 37,980 Tonnes; 1977 (9 months to 30th September only), 66,633 Tonnes.

to manufacture butter and cheese, respectively.
