§ Mr. Ashleyasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science when she expects to receive the report of the Warnock Committee ; and if she will make a statement.
§ Miss Margaret Jackson :The Warnock Committee is aiming to present its report early next year. The Committee is understood to be making good progress and to be hopeful of achieving that aim.
§ Mr. Spearingasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science when she expects to announce the timetable for the consultations with local authorities, teachers' associations and others, concerning the conduct of a review of curricular arrangements in schools as outlined in paragraph 2.21 of her recent consultative document.
§ Mrs. Shirley Williams :I held a preliminary meeting on 28th July with the local authority and teacher associations and the Schools Council about the review of local authority curricular arrangements proposed in the consultative document. Further meetings and written consultations have taken place since then, and have just been completed. I hope to issue a circular to local authorities to initiate the review by the end of November. which will request replies by the end of June 1978.
