§ 31. Sir G. de Freitasasked the Secretary of State for Transport what answer has been given to the letter, correspondence Reference EMRT/60009/TR47/047 from the Parish Council of Cransley, Northamptonshire, on the subject of road safety on the A43.
§ Mr. HoramBriefly, Cransley Parish Council was informed that a footbridge or subway is to be provided so that pedestrians travelling between Broughton and Cransley can safely cross the A43, but 559W the cost of taking the new road under the road to the village would cause the construction of the bypass to be delayed for many years. Very few people commenting on the proposed A43 road scheme contended that the existing road could cope with future traffic. A copy of the full reply to the Parish Council is being forwarded to the Member for his information.
