§ Mr. Frank Allaunasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what acreage of land was acquired by local authorities in England in each of the last four 477W financial years for housing and other purposes respectively.
§ Mr. Guy BarnettUnfortunately, apart from the information on the acreage of land acquired by local authorities under the Community Land Act, given to my hon. Friend in a separate answer today, there is at present no other reliable information on the acreage of land acquired by local authorities. In the future, information on the acreage of all local authority acquisitions of development land is expected to become available as a by-product of the development land tax returns made to the Inland Revenue.
