§ Mr. Frank Allaunasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will devote to dealing with urban dereliction a sum equivalent to the saving to the Exchequer in tax relief arising from the reduction of mortgage interest by 1 per cent.
§ Mr. ShoreYes. The increased urban programme of £125 million per annum from 1979–80 will be in excess of the tax relief arising from the 1 per cent. reduction in mortgage interest.
