Available statistics about nursing staff above the level of ward sister, in 1965 and 1966 do not distinguish between nurses engaged in administrative work and those employed on teaching duties. The number of administrative nursing staff in 1967 was 3.9 per cent. of the total nursing work force at that time; in 1976 the comparable proportion was 3.5 per cent.
