§ Mr. StrangStatistics of consumption are not available, but import duty was paid on 60.4 million gallons of wine of fresh grapes entering the United Kingdom in 1976, of which 37.2 per cent. was imported ready bottled. During the same period an estimated further 50,000 gallons was produced within the United Kingdom from the 1975 harvest, representing 0.08 per cent. of the total available for consumption.
