Mr. Rooker

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer how many specialist offices have been set up by the Inland Revenue to deal with tax avoidance and evasion; where they are located; what staff are employed, qualified or otherwise; and what action is planned to extend the number of offices and staff.

Mr. Robert Sheldon

There are at present three special offices, each with a staff of 17. These are in Edinburgh. Manchester and London. A fourth office with similar staffing is to be opened shortly in Birmingham.
