§ Mr. MoyleThe most recent figures for England and Wales, based on the mortality rates during the period 1972 to 1974, show an expectation of life at birth of 69.2 years for males and 75.6 for females. Expectations of life are not calculated for the regions of England and Wales. Figures of area mortality within England and Wales, and standardised 209W mortality ratios for regions are however given in "Mortality Statistics, 1974" published by HMSO.
