§ Mr. Richard Wainwrightasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what plans he has to encourage building societies to advance mortgages for properties valued at less than £4,000 or with a life of less than 30 years under the building societies support scheme.
§ Mr. ArmstrongBuilding societies loans under the replacement lending scheme will be confined to the same priority categories as local authorities' own mortgage lending in 1977–78. These will normally include the types of property mentioned by the hon. Member.
