HC Deb 28 March 1977 vol 929 cc68-9W
Sir Frederic Bennett

asked the Secretary of State for Defence how many soldiers of the Regular Army and the TAVR respectively, and what proportion of these forces, are still being issued with Second World War-type and standard webbing equipment; and when it is proposed finally to complete modern re-equipment in this field.

Mr. Robert C. Brown

By June this year approximately 114,000—some 81 per cent.—soldiers of the Regular Army and approximately 40,000—some 66 per cent. of the TAVR will be equipped with modern webbing equipment. It is planned to re-equip the balance with modern webbing by the early 1980s.
