§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Attorney-General whether, in view of the Government's policy of not permitting the Leyland toolmakers to maintain their differentials, he will take action to ensure that this policy is carried out when the Government use the services of barristers and Queen's Counsel; and what he estimates would be the saving to the Exchequer if all persons taking legal briefs were paid on the same basis as barristers.
§ The Attorney-GeneralAll the Government's policies are fully consistent with the need to maintain the attack on inflation. I regret that it is not possible to estimate the saving to the Exchequer on the hypothetical basis put by my hon. Friend.
