§ Dr. SummerskillProvisional figures show that, during 1976, 31,000 Commonwealth citizens and 13,100 foreign nationals were accepted for settlement on their arrival in the United Kingdom. The corresponding figures for the year 1973 were 25,633 and 3,936. Citizens of Pakistan are included as Commonwealth citizens until 31st August 1973 and as foreign nationals thereafter.
