HL Deb 14 March 1977 vol 380 c1440WA
Lord BEAUMONT of WHITLEY

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether the noise data for aircraft at Heathrow given by Mr. Clinton Davis in a Written Answer on 28th February 1977 were taken from a source which included measurements of the noise of Concorde; and how many noise levels of over 110 PNdB were recorded for Concorde over the same period.

Lord ORAM

The Written Answer referred to did not include Concorde noise levels, but they were included in a subsequent Answer, given by Mr. Clinton Davis, on 7th March. During Concorde's first year of operations at Heathrow, it recorded noise levels after take-off in excess of 110 PNdB at the fixed monitoring stations on 109 occasions. This represents about 5 per cent. of all events exceeding 110 PNdB.
