HC Deb 10 March 1977 vol 927 c619W
Q19. Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Prime Minister whether he will give the reasons why he will not take action to ensure that no civil servant, political adviser, Press officer or other person working at No. 10 Downing Street or any other ministerial office is permitted to write or make Press or radio statements concerning their employment or matters pertaining thereto within a period of 20 years of leaving office.

Mr. Foot

I have been asked to reply.

The reply which my right hon. Friend gave to my hon. Friend on 3rd March about the publication of ministerial memoirs applies equally to the publication of memoirs by former members of the public services.
