§ Dr. GilbertIt is not the practice to comment on particular sales of defence equipment. Any request for the supply of submarines or other defence equipment to Israel or to any other country in the Middle East would be considered in the light of our declared policy of arms sales to that area. There is no question of our allowing nuclear submarines to be supplied.
