HC Deb 24 June 1977 vol 933 c627W
Mr. Madden

asked the Secretary of State for Industry what progress is being made by the English Industrial Estates Corporation in carrying out a feasibility study in Calderdale, West Yorkshire, into mill conversion schemes, and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Cryer

The Department has agreed that the English Industrial Estates Corporation should join with the metropolitan borough of Calderdale to undertake a feasibility study in Calderdale of a scheme to convert a mill to modern industrial usage. The corporation advises me that an initial meeting was held between borough and EIEC officials on 14th June, when Halifax was chosen as a location for the study. There was a further meeting yesterday, 23rd June, to discuss the detailed arrangements for commissioning the study. The report will take about two months to prepare.
