Mr. Spearing

asked the Secretary of State for Transport what are the current proposals contained in draft regulations related to drivers' hours to be discussed in the EEC Council of Ministers on 28th-29th June, in respect of the other work undertaken prior to the actual commencement of the driving period.

On this occasion the Council will be concentrating on a limited number of the many issues raised by the proposals in R642/ 76. The proposals for a control on spreadover are among those reserved for a later meeting of the Council.
