HC Deb 23 June 1977 vol 933 c545W
Mr. Frank Allaun

asked the Secretary of State for Defence what would be the cost at 1913 prices of Her Majesty's Government military expenditure in 1977–78 expressed in pounds sterling and United States dollars; and what is the total military expenditure proposed for 1977–78 at current prices.

Mr. Mulley

The defence Budget Estimates for 1977–78 as shown in Cmnd. 6735 total £6,329 million. It is not practicable to revalue this figure to 1913 prices.

There are no offset arrangements with the United States Government.
