asked the Secretary of State for Employment (1) to whom the unpublished reports of the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service are made available;

(2) why some reports of the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service are not published.

Mr. Harold Walker

ACAS reports made under statutory procedures are all published. ACAS also carries out voluntary inquiries at the request of parties involved; reports of these may be published, subject to the wishes of the parties, where they are likely to be of more general industrial relations interest. Where ACAS makes a report under voluntary arrangements it is made available to the parties concerned, whether or not it is subsequently published.
