§ Mr. Hoyleasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will publish in the Official Report details, for the past three years, of the percentage of his Department's textile purchases spun and woven overseas, the square yards represented by such purchases, the value of the purchases, their country of origin and of any directives issued by him to nationalised industry to buy British textiles.
§ Mr. MasonThe origins of textile goods purchased are not traced back through all stages of production, and the detailed information requested is, therefore, not available. However, in the past three years all orders of textiles by the NIO and by NI Departments have been placed with manufacturers in the United Kingdom.
