§ Mr. Spearingasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will publish in the Official Report a list of countries expected to benefit from the monetary compensatory amount of 582 mua referred to in paragraph 399 of the EEC Commission Report on the Agricultural Situation 1976; if this figure is net of export amounts; and what each country is expected to receive in terms of both units of account and national currencies in 1976 and in 1977.
§ Mr. BishopThe figure quoted is the provision for monetary compensatory amounts in the 1977 Community budget as adopted. If the draft supplementary budget now before the Council were adopted the figure would stand at 970 million units of account. Both figures represent total net expenditure of MCAs after deduction of MCA charges applied in intra-Community trade and assume that MCAs will be in operation for all member States except Denmark.
No breakdown of the totals by member States is available, but figures given by the Commission earlier this year—document R/360/77, COM(77)150, page 11—which was deposited in the Library of the House on 16th February 1977, indicate that for the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Italy the total paid in MCA subsidies exceeds that collected in MCA charges whilst for Germany, France, the Irish Republic and Belgium /Luxembourg the reverse is the case.
