§ Miss Maynardasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food how many agricultural dwelling-house advisory committees have met; and how many have found in the farmers' favour.
Mr. StrongWe are maintaining quarterly statistics, and these show that, in the three months ending 31st March, agricultural dwelling-house advisory committees had given advice to housing authorities on 150 rehousing applications. My hon. Friend will appreciate that ADHACs are not called upon to arbitrate between farmers and farm workers, and that they are concerned only to make a236W technical assessment of the agricultural need and urgency attaching to a rehousing application. In the cases to which I referred, and as I told my hon. Friend on 11th May—[Vol. 931, c. 1465]—ADHACs discerned agricultural need in 145 cases, but with varying degrees of urgency.
