asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will list for all bodies (other than committees) to which he appoints members, other than civil servants, the authority for making the appointment.

Under the authority of Section 482 of the Income and Corporation Taxes Act 1970 my right hon. Friend has the responsibility for making appointments to an advisory panel. In addition, my right hon. Friend appoints the members of NEDC and the chairman of EDCs, after appropriate consultations, by administrative act.
