§ Mr. John GrantHer Majesty's Mines and Quarries Inspectorate, as part of the Health and Safety Executive, operates within the guidance of the Health and Safety Commission. I am informed by the Chairman of the Health and Safety Commission that there are no plans to change the enforcement procedure followed in respect of health and safety in mines and quarries, and my right hon. Friend has no intention of issuing directions to the Commission to change its policy in this respect.
